Dr. Jungho Yoo joined the School of International Service in the spring semester of 2006 as the first C. W. Lim and Korea Foundation Chair of Korean Studies. Before coming to SIS, he was a senior fellow at the Korea Development Institute’s (KDI) School of Public Policy and Management. Additionally, he served as the Vice President of the institute and as the Director of the Center for Economic Information (an affiliated institute of KDI). Dr. Yoo also served as the Senior Counselor to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea in charge of Economic Affairs. His articles have appeared in the Korea Development Review, KDI Quarterly Economic Outlook, and the National Assembly Review. His areas of expertise include international trade, economic development, and the roles of institutions and government in the market economy. Before joining KDI in 1981, he was an assistant professor of economics at Wheaton College in Massachusetts. He graduated from the College of Law, Seoul National University and holds a MA in Public Policy and Administration and a PhD in Economics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
