Bio
Aleem Guiapal is the Bureau Director of the Muslim Economic Affairs of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, Office of the President, Republic of the Philippines. The youngest in the commission at age 34 to assume a national public post. His flagship program NCMF Investment Forum gained national and international support both from public and private sectors and cited for HRD Asia awards 2013 for His Contribution to Society. He is credited for mapping various networking strategies that have brought investors to the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. He also facilitated linkaging among Moro professionals to obtain scholarships in Islamic Finance at the Universiti Utara Malaysia. At the Commission, he led the bureau in the preparation of the economic blue print to engage the Philippine government in strengthening its policy towards Islamic Financing, Halal Industry development and Awqaf development. Guiapal is an alumnus of the Asian Institute of Management with a degree in development management. He was cited in 2012 as one of the 500 Most Influential Muslims (Economic Development) and had spoken to conferences in South East Asia, East Asia, the Middle East and US sharing his advocacy in social enterprise, SME Empowerment, Halal Development Initiative and the Importance of Participatory Financing.
