Graduate Research Awards

Are you planning to travel domestically or abroad for research, a conference or an internship? The Graduate Student Research Grants, sponsored by the SIS Dean's Office and the SIS Graduate Student Council, are designed to subsidize the costs of travel and/or conference registration, while also promoting SIS Graduate student scholarship and professionalism.

Grant recipients will be given up to $500 for domestic travel and up to $1000 for travel abroad.

Please send any questions to gradresearchgrants@american.edu.

Please note that a Graduate Research Grant cannot be used to fund a SIS Summer Abroad Program. Students accepted into/applying for a SIS Summer Abroad Program may be eligible to apply for the SIS Summer Abroad Scholarship.
