This September segment of the Islamic Lecture Series focused on the topic of Muslim women and their contributions to peacebuilding efforts both locally and globally. Though many in the West continue to associate Islam with violence and oppression of women, the featured panelists’ careers and their associated conflict resolution work defied such assumptions and exposed the narrow scope of such stereotypes. The featured panelists shared experiences from their work within a variety of fields, including, but not limited to media services, non-profits, social work, and academia.
