Our Mission

American University’s School of International Service (SIS) is proud to launch the new Model G20 Initiative. This innovative program has been designed to bring together students across the United States and abroad to advance the understanding of the G20 and international economic cooperation by fully simulating a G20 Leaders’ Summit.

Since 2008, the Group of Twenty (G20) has become the premiere forum for international economic cooperation, annually gathering heads of state and government of the leading advanced and emerging economies together with the heads of major international organizations to address the most challenging issues of the global economic agenda. Recognizing the G20’s influence in shaping today’s world, SIS has designed the first U.S.-based standalone experiential learning program on the G20 to prepare future leaders to build a strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive global economy for all.
