About the Panel Discussion:
The evaluation team of the global non-profit ActionAid is visiting Washington DC this week to present its findings about the 2004 Tsunami and the implications for future disaster risk reduction.
Join us for a panel discussion about ActionAid’s efforts in response to the 2004 Southeast Asian Tsunami, including lessons learned and their effect on future disaster response and mitigation. ActionAid responds to emergencies worldwide with relief and also works long-term to reduce the vulnerabilities of affected, poor communities.
This panel discussion replaces a training on disaster risk reduction originally scheduled for the same day. This two-day training course is a part of PDI's Humanitarian Practice Training Series and has been rescheduled for early 2008. Attendees to the panel discussion are encouraged to participate in the training course.
