Georgia Summer Internships

Priority for these positions will be given to students who are participating the SIS Summer 2017 Abroad Program in Baku, Azerbaijan. Application deadline for those not participating in the program is March 1 and later applicants will be admitted on a rolling basis. SIS cannot guarantee placement with these organizations; the list is meant to be demonstrative.

Note: Students participating in the Baku summer abroad program may list their internship interest in the same application for the program and do not need to complete an additional application for an internship.

The Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Research

Organization
Established in 2001, GFSIS is a non-profit think tank engaged in improving public policy making in Georgia through research, training, and outreach activities. Their main directions include public policy, national security, national integration, Euro-Atlantic integration, peacebuilding, and youth affairs.

Position
GFSIS offers five (5) internship positions to students interested in international security, postSoviet studies, economic development, political science and foreign policy. 
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of Russian at least on intermediate level, excellent editorial and drafting skills, research skills.

WFC is a privately owned financial advisory firm with a special focus on structuring the financial transactions involving International Financial Institutions (IFIs). WFC has sector specific focuses in renewable resources/energy, education, manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, and transportation/logistics. Potential projects for interns include researching energy trading in Russia, Georgia, and Turkey; fundraising for hydropower development; and other OPIC related projects.
