Seminar: 6 credits

Sookmyung International Summer School (SISS) at Sookmyung Women's University, Seoul, Republic of Korea, invites male and female AU students to gain global perspectives in their academic field along side Sookmyung students on their campus located in central Seoul. Professors from international partner institutions provide diverse courses on topics ranging from cross-cultural communication to leadership training to media history. There are also many opportunities to experience Korean traditional culture on and off the campus through field trips to the Korean Folk Village, Gyeonbokgung Palace, and the art markets in Insadong. This program is a great opportunity to spend your summer meaningfully by participating in a culture oriented program.

Students will take two courses during the three week program for a total of six credits which will be transferred back to American University. Classes will meet five days a week for three hours each for the duration of the program. Students must register for six credits of the AU-Sookmyung University Exchange Program with SIS advisor, Suzanne Skillings once they have been accepted in to the program. Application materials are available through Heidi Ashton in SIS 308.

Scholarships for this three week program are available through the Program Development Office. Please see Heidi Ashton in SIS 308 for scholarship details and application materials.
