Academic Details
The intensive nine-week program explores the roots of violence, conflict resolution and peace building, and sustainable development within the context of Israeli-Palestinian relations. The program consists of two mandatory academic components worth 3 credits each: a core seminar that includes lectures and discussions with key stakeholders in the region and an internship in Israel or the West Bank.
Site Visits
Students enjoy site visits to historical and cultural sites in Jerusalem and a weekend excursion to Petra, the Dead Sea, and Amman in Jordan.

AU tuition plus program fee.
Who Should Attend
Graduate and advanced undergraduate students in all majors and disciplines from American University only may apply. All students must demonstrate academic achievement, an interest in the Middle East peace process, and the ability to adapt in a culturally and politically sensitive environment.
Logistics
Students are responsible for their own airfare to Tel Aviv, Israel and from Amman, Jordan. Students will be housed in shared tourist class accommodations for the duration of the seminar and in hotels, apartments or homestays during the internship, depending on their placement and location.

Applications are available in the final pages of the program guide, which will be released by December 1. Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis but must be received by March 5 for priority consideration.
