Undergraduate Research at SIS

Advanced International Studies Research Poster Conference

An undergraduate student presenting research.

Each spring some of the best student researchers from various sections of Advanced International Studies Research (SISU-306) are selected to showcase their research projects in a Poster Conference held in the SIS Atrium at the end of the semester. For many SIS students, the Poster Conference is the first step in taking their research beyond the classroom and engaging in the broader scholarly dialogue on their topics. Students have the chance to discuss their research with students, faculty, and staff from the entire AU community. Many of the presenters then use these projects, and the feedback they receive, as the basis for a Boren or Fulbright application, as the starting point for a further independent research project, or as the basis for a presentation or publication with an external outlet. The Poster Conference is an excellent opportunity to meet students and faculty who share your research interests and to see what your colleagues are researching. The programs from past Poster Conferences are available above right.
