The SIS Undergraduate Research Small Grant Fund is designed to support research-oriented activities such as attending conferences or events that require entrance fees or defraying other expenses associated with the conduct of research. Small grants (up to $50 per award) are awarded on a rolling basis throughout the year. Only SIS majors are eligible for support from the Small Grant Fund. Students applying for support for a summer activity must be registered for AU undergraduate classes in the subsequent fall semester.
Applicants should submit the following items to the SIS Undergraduate Research Coordinator (Dr. Aaron P. Boesenecker, email@example.com):
A cost estimate (e.g. listing of the conference or event fee).
A brief statement (250 words) on how the proposed activity contributes to the student’s research interests and/or overall course of studies.
Applications will be reviewed by the SIS Undergraduate Research Coordinator and the SIS Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education. Applicants will be notified of their award status within one week of application.
