About Us

Our offices are located in SIS-103 and we are open from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Each advisor is available for walk-ins based on the schedule below, or for an appointment. Walk-ins are intended for quick questions of 10-15 minutes. If you have several questions, want to review your academic progress, etc., we encourage you to schedule an advising appointment. Advising appointments may be scheduled online at

Thinking about applying to SIS as an incoming freshman or as a transfer student? You may want to consider joining American University for a Preview Day, with a full program of information. American offers three Preview Days each year. You can also schedule a Day Visit, which gives you a chance to meet with an advisor, attend a class, and have lunch with a current student.
