Congratulations to our Spring 2012 graduates!

New rules for Fall 2012: All courses for major, minor, Gen Ed, University Math, and College Writing requirements must be taken for a letter grade.

Summer 2012 registration opened for all students on Monday, March 26. For information about your Fall registration date, visit the Registration Dates website.

Did you know there are new rules about waitlist? The registrar's office website includes information about how this process works and what's new for Summer and Fall 2012.

The Summer 2012 and Fall 2012 Course Specialization Lists are now available (pdf).

American University has adopted new Academic Regulations for undergraduate students. These will go into effect in Fall 2012 mean significant changes on University requirements, Dean's List, etc. SIS encourages all students to familiarize themselves with the new regulations as soon as possible. American University will expect all undergraduates to understand and be bound by the new regulations starting the first day of the Fall 2012 semester.

American University requires that all students have up-to-date in-session addresses. Not having current in-session address may prevent you from registering. To check, confirm and/or update your current in-session address on Click on "Academics" and then on "Update my Address"

If you are a Federal Investigator looking to conduct a background check, security clearance, or other interview regarding a current or former student you will need to contact our office at 202-885-1639 to schedule an in-person appointment. For the interview you must bring your credentials as well as a copy of the student's signed release. In the case of alumni, please note that depending on how long it has been since the student was last enrolled/completed his/her program we may or may no longer have information (beyond grade information) or personnel familiar with the individual student.

Alumni Audits: For former students looking to pursue this alumni benefit, all audit request are handled through the Alumni Office. Recent (and no-so-recent) Graduates looking to pursue courses through the alumni audit program can get additional information and the necessary forms here
