Visiting the School of Communication
To schedule a visit of the School of Communication call 202-885-2061 and ask to set up a prospective student meeting. A prospective student and family can meet with the Assistant Director for Recruitment and Retention, Jill Heitzmann, between 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday (based on appointment availability). You can also contact Jill at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions about the School of Communication.
The American University Office of Admissions also offers a number of opportunities for you to visit campus (click each link for more information):
Information Sessions and Campus Tours are available on a regular basis by the Office of Admissions at AU. Check out their online schedule link at the bottom of the Info Session/Campus Tour page linked here.
Preview Days are AU's premier open house events for prospective students and families. During a Summer Preview Day you and your family will meet current AU students and faculty, tour the campus with a student ambassador, learn about academic programs, the career center, study abroad, campus life, scholarships, financial aid and more.
Day Visits are designed to give you a glimpse of the true college experience. A Day Visit is one that is individually set up for you, based on your interests and needs. You will have the opportunity to sit in on a class with a current AU student and have lunch in our dining hall. You may choose to take a tour and attend an information session or meet with an academic advisor in your school of choice. We try to accommodate individual preferences, but you may need to be flexible due to class and advisor availability.
