Professor Pallavi Kumar wants students to walk out of her PR Portfolio course with more than knowledge, she also wants them to have experience working with a real client and a professional portfolio. That's why each year she partners with a Washington, DC area institution who acts as a client, asking students to solve real communication challenges confronting the company. This year the partner was Mosaic; past partners include the Newseum, Honest Tea, Hilton and Living Social. Students form teams and pitch competing strategic plans, communication professionals from the client act as judges to select the best.
