Luis Botello

- Luis Botello is an adjunct professor of Journalism. He is the senior director of special projects for the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ). He has covered stories in Washington, D.C., Latin America, and Europe and has worked on media development programs in more than 20 countries. Botello has worked in digital innovation programs for journalists and civil society groups. He launched the International Journalists’ Network (IJNet), an online resource tool for journalists around the world. He is also a consultant for Freedom House and a regular contributor to international news networks such as CNN Español, Al Jazeera, Russia Today, NTN24, and the Voice of America. Botello has worked on projects sponsored by major private foundations and other governmental institutions such as the United Nations, UNESCO, USAID, and the State Department. Professor Botello, a native of Panama, previously worked as a leading news anchor in his home country for many years and received a Fulbright scholarship to study in the Unites States.
