Frances Dauth

Adjunct Instructor School of Communication

Fran Dauth began her career at a tiny newspaper in California. After that she worked as a reporter or an editor at the Oakland Tribune, the San Francisco Examiner, the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Star-Ledger of New Jersey. She’s been involved, as a reporter or editor, in stories as varied as the Patty Hearst kidnapping, the Peoples Temple and Jonestown, the slaying of Harvey Milk, the Gulf War, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the collapse of the Soviet Union and the events known as 9/11. She’s been a city editor, metro editor, foreign editor, managing editor and editorial page editor. She’s loved (almost) every minute of it.
