Kimberly Llerena

Professorial Lecturer School of Communication

Kim Llerena is a photographic artist currently based in Washington, D.C. She received her MFA in Photographic & Electronic Media from the Maryland Institute College of Art and a BA in Journalism from New York University. She was a semifinalist in the 2016 Print Center 90th Annual International Competition in Philadelphia, a finalist for the 2014 Trawick Prize in Bethesda, and a semifinalist for the 2013 Sondheim Artscape Prize in Baltimore. In addition to exhibiting nationally, she is term faculty in the Film & Media Arts Division at American University, where she also serves as Course Coordinator for Visual Literacy (COMM-105).
