Assistant Dean for Online Learning

Stephanie Brookstein is the Assistant Dean for Online Learning for the School of Communication and the School of Professional and Extended Studies. Stephanie draws from her experience and education in psychology, instructional technology, and online program development to develop strategic online initiatives for both schools. Stephanie collaborates with faculty to develop online courses using research based best practices in education. She also shares her passion for instructional technology and educational psychology with faculty so that they can address the different needs and learning styles of students by incorporating technology into online instruction. Prior to joining American University, Stephanie worked with Saint Joseph’s University, Wilkes University, and the PA Department of Education to successfully launch multiple online programs for K-12 Educators.
B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Tech;
M.S.Ed. in Instructional Technology from Wilkes University
