Thomas Kaufman

Adjunct Instructor School of Communication

Thomas Kaufman is a producer/director/cameraman. He has lit and shot films for producers Barbara Kopple, Charles Guggenheim, and Mark Jonathan Harris. Thomas has also filmed commercials and fiction films, and has twice won the Gordon Parks Award for Cinematography. He's also filmed for three Academy Award-nominated feature documentaries. In 1993 he won an Emmy for his film about deaf children, "See What I'm Saying." When he's not filming, he writes fiction, and in 2010 St Martin's Press published his first novel, "Drink the Tea," and in 2011 his second, "Steal the Show." He is a graduate of the University of Southern California, and holds an MFA in Film & Video Production.
