Fred Whiting, APR, is an adjunct professor of Public Communication. He is an Adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C., where he is teaching a graduate-level course in Public Relations Writing. He has also taught at American University, Georgetown University and Hood College in Frederick, Md. Fred has more than 30 years of experience as a strategic communications consultant, association manager, and PR agency executive. He is a member of the board of directors for the National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, where he initiated the Mentoring Project, served as co-chair of the Thoth Awards Judging Committee, and writes a monthly column, “Ask a Professional,” for the chapter newsletter. Fred has a Master’s degree in Public Communication from American University.
