Our Hometown Blob

Our Hometown Blob is a documentary about a small town in Pennsylvania that holds an annual celebration for it's most famous character - the Blob - from the 1958 b-movie The Blob with Steve McQueen. The town celebrates "Blobfest" every July with wacky contests and a recreation of a scene in The Blob where cinema-goers flee the creature in the same movie theater featured in the original film. Last summer Blobfest celebrated the 50th anniversary of the making of the film. The film includes interviews with people who were involved in the making of the film, as well as with current day fans.

Beer Picassos was written, produced, directed, shot, & edited by Dan Curl. This documentary explores the rich and colorful history of home brewing. Through vibrant interviews with several members of the local home brew club B.U.R.P. (Brewers United for Real Potables), we learn that home brewing is not about making cheap beer in a bathtub. Rather, home brewing is a journey in cultural and culinary expertise.
