What students say:
I absolutely loved the program. As a native of LA, I got a completely different perspective of the city. The networking was invaluable, and I would definitely do the program again! - Sarah Hattem, 2011 Summer in LA participant
Having our instructor Stacia Raymond there to guide us, give us advice, and introduce us to a new industry professional each night is an experience I couldn't have had anywhere else. I had access to people I would otherwise never have spoken to without years of trying, or maybe never. Being able to talk to people who were exactly where I hoped to be one day gave me both perspective and hope for my own career goals. - Jeremy Hentschel, 2011 Summer in LA participant
The Summer in LA program is an invaluable experience for those looking to get into TV and film production. - Anthony Gilmartin, 2011 Summer in LA participant
Being a film major, I thought I knew what the film industry would be like. But I had no idea until I went to Los Angeles this summer. We met with people spanning every side of the industry, interned, and lived and breathed film. I grew not only as a filmmaker, but as a person. It was hands down the best education I have ever received, and I would encourage anyone seriously interested in the film industry to sign up for Summer in LA! - Meghan Reynolds, 2011 Summer in LA participant
The experience in L.A. was amazing. It combined the theoretical knowledge I learned at SOC with the practical experience that working in the industry afforded. -Tamara Reid, 2007 Summer in L.A. participant
What alumni say:
The Summer in LA program is truly a priceless experience that everyone who attends film school outside of the LA area needs to partake in. In addition to just the internships, which are themselves invaluable, getting to meet with prestigious AU alum in the entertainment business was a one of a kind experience. - Jason Gold '05, Manager of Original Series Production for Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead and The Killing
