Last summer, Judy Sellner worked as a video consultant for the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF), a Washington, DC based non-profit that provides development aid to Latin America and the Caribbean. As part of her work, she wrote and edited video material used for PADF’s annual awards gala in Miami, FL. She traveled to the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Colombia with the organization to interview beneficiaries and shoot video for the event. Sellner was able to visit and film several locations where PADF does development work on the ground.
Katie Leasor is working as the Global Broadband and Innovations Intern at Integra Government Services L.L.C, which is a private consulting firm specializing in international development. INTEGRA was awarded its first contract in September 2010 to implement the Global Broadband and Innovations Program for USAID.The GBI Program, based in the Office of Infrastructure and Engineering of the Bureau of Economic Growth and Trade (EGAT/I&E), is emerging as USAID’s hub for research, information sharing, and implementation consulting in the ICT4D space. She conducts research on the ICT4D sectors such as economic growth, education, health, agriculture, trade, etc. and in the effort to create a research database for USAID's future use.
Erin Weston will be the media/video intern with One Common Unity (OCU), a non-profit organization that aims to create and nurture sustainable communities through peace education, arts and media. OCU reaches beyond national borders, drawing in artists, educators, peacemakers, and planetary stewards to be a part of this international and intergenerational network of members dedicated to fostering and sustaining peace.
Professor Declan Fahy published his latest article, "A post-Celtic Tiger analysis of the norms, values and roles of Irish financial journalists" in the Irish Communications Review. Along with two other co-authors, he explores the ways financial journalism developed and how that impacts how reporting is done and the limitations it has. You can read the full article here.
Laurie Moy, founder of non-profit Pearls of Africa, currently works as the Communication Director at INTEGRA Government Services International LLC. She has her own portfolio site where you can explore some the great projects she has worked on as a student and as part of Pearls of Africa.

Alison Ring is working as a strategic communications assistant at Jhpiego/MCHIP. She drafts press materials, supports the website, and researches. Jhpiego is a nongovernmental organization affiliated with Johns Hopkins University that builds partnerships to enhance the quality of health care services for women and families. Jhpiego's focus is on training and support for health care providers working in limited-resource settings around the world. MCHIP (Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program) is USAID's flagship maternal, neonatal and child health program. MCHIP scales up programs that work by partnering with USAID missions, national and local governments, NGOs, communities and other agencies to ensure that health services reach women and their families.
While interning at Facebook, Ferri Koszorus worked on projects including gathering all news relating to Facebook, updating official D.C. government pages, working with CNN and Larry King on the Gulf Coast telethon (in partnership with Facebook), and attending hearings on Capitol Hill. He continued the internship throughout this fall semester.
Ali Latifi is working on a senior capstone trip to Afghanistan for which is he still squaring away funding. Over the summer he interned for The Kojo Nnamdi Show on NPR's WAMU 88.5 radio station. He produced several segments including:
