SOC Hosts National Association of Hispanic Journalists Workshop
School of Communication professor Carolyn Brown led a workshop March 31 for members of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, teaching them how to create a blog with embedded video.
Brown, a member of NAHJ, a worldwide professional organization, used the software WordPress to teach journalists from publications such as the Washington Post.
The School of Communication donated the space to hold the workshop, which attracted about 15 professional journalists.
“The news media is changing, as we all know, and having multimedia skills is essential,” she said. “A lot of the people who came are print journalists, who know it’s important for them to gain multimedia skills.”
