My name is Cleopatra Andreadis and I am an intern with Good Morning America 's Washington Bureau.
This fall marks the third semester that I have interned for Good Morning America; the past two summers I have lived in New York City and worked for both the Green Room and Booking Departments of GMA. I am truly fascinated with all the work that is put into orchestrating a morning news program on TV.
There is no such thing as a "typical" work day when you are involved in communications. Most days I arrive, logon to my terminal and immediately check the AP Wires. The AP Wires contain up-to-date news from all over the world. Every second, a story is posted on the wires, which I then sift through. My producers asked me to inform them of any stories that seem interesting, fun and (most importantly) look great on television!
The remainder of my afternoon is spent with consumer correspondent Elisabeth Leamy, who I met in New York City . She covers the stories that make you want to cringe! In the next couple of weeks, I will serve as her assistant on investigative reports, specifically, one involving airport garage scams. I really look forward to seeing all the behind-the-scenes work involved.
Some goals for the upcoming months are to really master my producing skills and feel completely competent to embark on real-life TV assignments on my own!
