The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is the pre-eminent student organization for anyone interested in the field of public relations. The American University chapter of the PRSSA works to connect its members with public relations professionals in the DC area and around the country. Members benefit from numerous national programs, educational networking opportunities and exposure to professional and leadership development.
Professionals from a wide range of public relations fields, including PR firms, nonprofit organizations, the entertainment and hospitality industry, sports communication and political communication connect with our members through networking opportunities, information panels and more. Students also benefit from the PRSSA’s close relationship with its parent society, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Besides gaining access to a vast network of potential employers through the PRSA’s 20,000 members, students have the opportunity to be invited to luncheons, meetings and other events at the National Capital Chapter of the PRSA. Students automatically receive the Society’s daily updates on issues and trends in the public relations field and gain exclusive access to the PRSA and PRSSA job and internship center.
