Ariel Barry

Ariel Barry is a graduate student in the Journalism and Public Affairs program at American University's School of Communication. She is currently an intern at WAMU 88.5 and will be working with the web team this summer to produce articles and digital content for the station's website. Though a Virginia native, Ariel moved to California for undergraduate study. She graduated from California State University, Monterey Bay in May 2013, receiving a B.A. in Human Communication with a concentration in Journalism and Media Studies. There, she worked as a staff reporter, copy editor and production team member for The Otter Realm. Ariel's career aspirations include working as a broadcast reporter, news anchor, broadcast writer and television news producer.

Mark Lieberman

Mark Lieberman is a rising junior with a major in Journalism and a minor in Cinema Studies. This summer, he is interning at USA Today, where he is writing articles for USA Weekend Magazine and USA Today's Life section, in addition to managing USA Weekend's web site and social media accounts. He is the managing editor of The Scene at The Eagle, covering arts and entertainment, music and lifestyle around campus and across DC. He has previously served as a USA Today Collegiate Correspondent and a Publicity and Promotions Intern for Allied Integrated Marketing. He hopes to pursue a career in arts and entertainment journalism, as an editor, reporter or critic.

Sean Meehan

Sean Meehan is a senior double majoring in Print Journalism and Literature. This summer he is interning for Current newspaper, reporting on public media and helping Current revamp its online presence. Sean is also the web editor of The Eagle, AU's student-run newspaper and has previously interned at The Dallas Morning News and Education Week. Sean is a native of Southlake, TX and plans to pursue a career in in-depth print journalism after graduating in May 2015. In his fleeting spare time, Sean enjoys reading drama and poetry and obsessing over music.

Aly Seidel

Aly Seidel is a rising senior on track to receive her B.A. in Journalism and Political Science. This summer Aly will be working with the education team at NPR, focusing on cuts to recess play in American schools. Aly currently works as the features editor for The Eagle, AU's student-run publication. Previously, she's interned at Fox News. She also works for the Student Advocacy Center at AU and the AU Library. After graduation, Aly aims to stay in D.C. as a political reporter.
