Academics

  • Make sure your major and minor (or double major) are declared
  • It’s not too late to become an SOC Student Ambassador.  Contact Jill Heitzmann for more information
  • Research BA/MA programs at AU like those in the SOC
  • Research AU Abroad programsand discuss your abroad plans with your Academic Advisor

Career

  • Make sure you’re registered on the AU CareerWeb 
  • Obtain related experience in your field through part-time employment, internships, practicum, field work, or volunteering
  • Find a mentor in the School of Communication!  Meet with one of your professors and discuss your graduate school and career goals. 
  • Meet with a Career Center Advisor to further develop your resume and cover letters Advisor
  • Attend one of the many job fairs on campus this year!
  • Apply to be a part of the SOC’s Alumni Mentorship Program
