- Dr. Ruth Zaplin is the assistant director for the Key Executive Leadership Programs. Prior to becoming assistant director, Zaplin served as an executive coach and adjunct faculty member in the Key Programs. Her background includes developing and leading large-scale government reform, workforce restructuring, and work redesign initiatives in both the public and private sectors, executive leadership of a nationally known non-governmental organization and social science research in criminal justice. She has two nationally recognized textbooks in criminal justice and numerous publications related to leadership development. She received her Executive Coaching accreditation from Georgetown University and is certified by the International Coach Federation. Dr. Zaplin teaches Human Resource Management in the Key Executive Leadership MPA Program,Manager as Coach for Performance in the Key Executive Leadership Certificate Program, and Managing Conflict in the regular MPA Program.
