Buddy pairs took a break from studying and interning to compete in the annual Buddy Olympics.
The student-led buddy program pairs each first-year student with an older student in the program. This peer mentorship opportunity helps first-years adjust to their new life in Washington, D.C., at American University, and in the SPA Leadership Program. Upperclassmen serve as resource people to first-year students by offering advice to on choosing classes, co-curricular activities, applying for internships and national fellowships. This program helps to build fellowship in the program: students share meals, study together, and visit museums and other sites in Washington.
