Annual Spring Lecture featuring William Julius Wilson

The Metropolitan Policy Center (MPC) is proud to announce its first Annual Spring Lecture. William Julius Wilson is the inaugural keynote lecturer. Dr. Wilson will deliver a talk entitled, "The Effects of Living in Poor Urban Neighborhoods" A reception will follow the event.

William Julius WilsonWilliam Julius Wilson is Lewis P. and Linda L. Geyser University Professor at Harvard University. He is one of only 24 University Professors at Harvard and a preeminent sociologist. Wilson was selected by Time magazine as one of America's 25 Most Influential People. He was also a recipient of the 1998 National Medal of Science, the highest scientific honor in the United States, and was awarded the Talcott Parsons Prize in the Social Sciences by the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2003.

He is also the author of numerous publications and will be speaking about his most recently published work.

A reception featuring wine and heavy hors d'oeuvres will follow the lecture.
