Description

The mission of American University’s Women & Politics Institute is to close the gender gap in political leadership. We provide young women with academic and practical training that encourages them to become involved in the political process. And we facilitate research that enhances our understanding of the challenges women face in the political arena. All proceeds from the race go to the Women & Politics Institute.

ChronoTrack Timing and Scoring
Transponder timing operated by Capital Running Company will be used to score the 5K race. The system uses a computer "tag" that must be tied to each runner’s shoelace so that it can record the exact time a runner crosses the starting line and the finish line. Overall awards will be based on clock time; age group awards will be based on transponder times.

Awards
The top three male and female finishers overall receive awards. The first male and female finishers in these age groups also receive awards: 24 & under, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, and 55 and over.
