The Women & Politics Institute at American University strives to close the gender gap in political leadership.Our mission is to provide young women with academic and practical training that encourages them to become involved in the political process; we facilitate research that enhances our understanding of the challenges women face in the political arena; and we give women the skills to run for public office, pursue political careers, and develop their leadership capabilities. Every day, we do everything we can to ensure that women’s representation in all realms of politics increases.

But in order to offer more courses, enroll more students, conduct more research, train more women, and convene more special events, we need your help!

With dozens of sponsors, more than 500 registered runners, and hundreds of spectators, we called attention to women's under-representation and publicized our efforts to change the status quo.
