To enroll in the School of Professional & Extended Studies, please submit your enrollment deposit online. This deposit is nonrefundable and will be held in your student account and credited toward your tuition.
The deposit for Graduate Professional Studies, the Washington Semester Program, and the AU Gap Program is $400. If you have any questions regarding your deposit, please email email@example.com.
Submitting your deposit online
Create your myau.american.edu account using your AU ID, which can be found in your acceptance email.
Login to your myAU portal account and go directly to Eagle Finance. Pay your deposit by e-check or credit card.
After your enrollment is processed, your advisor will contact you with information on how to register for classes.
All students must adhere to the American University academic integrity code and Graduate or Undergraduate student Regulations (depending on level of study). Please make sure to review this information online before courses begin.
An admitted student may request to defer his/her enrollment once for up to one academic year. For example, if you are admitted for Spring 2017, you may defer your admission to Fall 2017, or Spring 2018. To request a deferral, please email the SPExS Admissions Office with the following information:
Program to which you are requesting deferred admission
Reason for requesting deferral
Semester to which you would like to defer (up to one year)
Your deferral must be approved by your program advisor. You will receive an email with a final decision.
If you decide not to enroll at AU, let us know via e-mail. Please include your reasons for choosing another institution.
