Off-campus housing is not an option for AU Gap students, with the exception of commuter students who reside with family in the DC area.
Registration for housing for the spring 2017 semester will be sent to deposited students in mid to late October for all programs.
The priority deadline for housing for the spring 2017 semester is November 18. After November 18, housing is based on availability. For questions about housing applications & to make changes to submitted forms, please contact the Housing & Dining Services Office directly.
Dining & University Meal Plans
If you are interested in a meal plan, please be sure to indicate your preference on the housing application. You may also apply online through the myAU Portal (under the "Life@AU" heading) starting in November for the spring 2017 semester. If you would like a meal plan, you must sign up by January 17.
Purchase of a meal plan is REQUIRED for AU Gap students and Washington Semester students housed in Leonard Hall.
Students enrolled in Graduate Professional Studies or the Washington Semester Program who choose to live in the Berkshire Apartments or off campus are not required to enroll in a meal plan.
For students not required to purchase a meal plan, AU EagleBuck$ can be used at a number of off-campus eateries as well as on-campus. It is possible to purchase EagleBuck$ without purchasing a meal plan; unused EagleBuck$ are refundable at the end of the semester, however unused meal swipes are not refundable. You may purchase EagleBuck$ here.
