Washington Workshop for Faculty: Hotels & Transportation Information

Capitol

The Washington Workshop for Faculty is an immersive experiential learning activity. Sessions and meetings take place on-location all over the District of Columbia. As such, there is no designated "conference hotel."  American University has arrangements with several hotels (listed below) for preferred rates.

Workshop Participants are encouraged to stay at a hotel with easy access to the city's Metro train service for easy transportation to the Workshop's many venues around Washington. it is more important to stay near a Metro stop than it is to be near the American University campus.  We will be meeting and traveling around the city by Metro, and after our dinners we may be returning to our accommodations after dark.

Washington has a full range of accommodations from hostels to five-star hotels. Here is a list of hotels recommended by American University that are close to a Metro station. Be sure to ask for special AU rates.
