American University's School of Professional and Extended Studies is proud to announce that the Graduate Gateway Program has been renamed to Graduate Professional Studies (GPS). While the name has changed, Graduate Professional Studies will continue to attract eager, young professionals from around the country and guide learners at a critical juncture in career development beyond college through specialized graduate course work and practical work experience in Washington, DC. GPS builds on five years of successful advancement of students' careers and academic futures with the Graduate Gateway Program, but the new name more accurately reflects the opportunities that await future students and alumni through this unique educational experience.
While the name is changing, the structure of the program will remain the same. The program is specifically designed for students who have already completed their bachelor degree, and are looking to build the career foundation they need to succeed in today's job market. GPS provides the opportunity for students to strengthen graduate school applications and gain credit toward a future degree while learning valuable skills in their career field. Graduate Professional Studies provides unparalleled learning tracks, with hands-on experience, encouraging students to create their path at American University.
