Graduate Gateway Application Deadlines

American University's Graduate Gateway Program has rolling admissions with application cycles consisting of three rounds.


Fall 2014 Application Dates

Priority Application Date: March 15, 2014
Students who submit all application materials by March 15 are eligible for priority registration, priority internships, and university housing.

Regular Application Date: May 15, 2014
Students who submit all application materials by May 15 are eligible for priority internships and university housing. **International candidates who require J-1 visa support must apply by this date**

Final Application Deadline: July 30, 2014
Candidates who submit all application materials by July 30 and are accepted into the fall class, will have a space reserved in the fall Graduate Gateway Program. Please note that due to the timing of fall orientation, the deposit deadline for any applicant admitted after July 15 will be August 15. Also note that priority internships might be closed by July 30 and availability of university housing could be limited or full.

Spring 2015 Application Dates

Priority Application Date: August 15, 2014
Students who submit all application materials by August 15 are eligible for priority registration, priority internships, and university housing.

Regular Application Date: October 1, 2014
Students who submit all application materials by October 1 are eligible for priority internships and university housing. **International candidates who require J-1 visa support must apply by this date**

Final Application Deadline: December 15, 2014

Candidates who submit all application materials by December 15 and are accepted into the spring class, will have a space reserved in the fall Graduate Gateway Program. Please note that due to the timing of fall orientation, the deposit deadline for any applicant admitted after December 1 will be January 5. Also note that priority internships might be closed by December 1 and availability of university housing could be limited or full.

Please note all students enrolled in the Graduate Gateway Program regardless of deposit date are assisted with finding an internship in their field. Priority internships refer to a select number of internships the School of Professional & Extended Studies has created in conjunction with area organizations.
