The university honors staff and retirees with twenty or more years of service at a special dinner and presentation ceremony at the Katzen Arts Center. Years of service calculations are based on full-time service anniversary dates. This year, we honor staff who have reached 20-, 25-, 30-, 35-, and 40-year milestones between June 1, 2012 and May 31, 2013.

Staff Council - Media Swap, Fall 2012

Staff Council Book and Media Swap

Do you want to exchange your unwanted books, CDs and DVDs for new ones? Then come to the Staff Council Book and Media Swap!

Here’s how it works:

From 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., bring your items to the Swap Table, and a Staff Council member will record how many items you dropped off.

Come back between 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. to pick out something new-to-you!

At the end of the day, all unwanted books will be donated to Better World Books, a company that sells donated books to help fund literacy and libraries.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept the following forms of media: magazines, brochures, textbooks, academic journals, or books with excessively highlighted pages.

Staff Council Professional Clothing Drive

Make room in your closet for your summer wardrobe. Staff Council will collect donations of clean, gently-used, professional clothing (blazers, suits, dresses, dress pants, and dress shirts, etc.). Items will be donated to A Wider Circle, an organization that provides items to families transitioning out of shelters. We encourage you to bring your items on, or with, hangers, if possible.

NEW! Trivia

Think you KNOW it all? Bring your wits and knowledge of fun facts for some trivia! Questions range from AU’s history to pop culture and beyond. Teams can comprise up to five people. Prizes will be awarded to the teams with the most points at the end of each round.

Location: MGC Rooms 2-4
Time: 12 p.m. - 2 p.m.

Official Trivia Rules

  1. Teams must consist of at least three individuals
  2. Teams may not exceed five individuals
  3. Each team member must be a current AU staff member
  4. One “round” consists of twelve (12) questions.
  5. The team with the most points at the end of each round wins that round and will be awarded a prize.

Today is Work-It-Out Wednesday! Join Jacquelyn Chantry, Fitness Coordinator, for a full-body circuit workout from 12 p.m. – 12:45 p.m. Appropriate for all fitness levels! Meet in the Jacobs Fitness Center lobby and enjoy the beautiful AU campus during this outdoor workout.
