The Office of Information Technology is pleased to announce a new Introduction to CommonSpot course for AU departmental contributors. CommonSpot is American University’s content management system used to create and maintain Web content on the www.american.edu site.
Introductory classes will be offered on a weekly basis throughout the summer. The Introductory class will discuss CommonSpot access, user roles, page types, and image requirements. You will learn to log on to the system, and create News and Success Stories based on AU Content Templates. You will also learn how to import images into CommonSpot and modify them to meet CommonSpot requirements.
Intermediate-level training on CommonSpot will be offered beginning in September 2009. The Intermediate class will explain the various modules and the process for creating a departmental landing page from scratch.
