Who are Alumni?

Although American University (especially in terms of benefits such as "alumni audit") only considers those who earned a degree as AU alumni, the AU TESOL Program (because we have a different purpose than the University's Alumni Association) considers TESOL Certificate holders and anyone who has ever completed a AU TESOL course as a potential Alumni Association member. Our goal is to build an inclusive community for mutual support - not to exclude anyone.

Benefits of being a TESOL Community Association member:

- Be sent a hard copy of the most recent version of the AU TESOL Working Papers
- Receive a silver commemorative TESOL key chain
- Participate on the AU TESOL Alumni listserv
- Be selected as a presenter for the annual alumni fall conference (an excellent resume builder)
- Participate in TESOL Alumni Association networking events (such as the annual Alumni Picnic and the Alumni   Social)
- Get in touch with fellow alums
- Be an Association officer or regional representative (elections are held annually in the spring)

How do I join?

Joining is easy!
All you have to do is print and fill out this form and send a check for $10 (made out to American University) to the address listed at the bottom of the page. As soon as we receive your payment, we will send an email confirming the receipt of your payment. Then we will send you the keychain, a hardcopy of the working papers, and enroll you in the alumni listserv so that you can start talking to your fellow alums!
