the first recipient of the AU TESOL Annette Langdon Service Award. This award honors a member of the AU TESOL Community who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to serving English language students, members of immigrant communities, or the TESOL profession. Mike will be formally honored at our Annual TESOL Fall Workshop on Saturday, October 25, 2008.
Emma Archer, Master's International student currently serving as a Peace Corps teacher trainer in Mongolia
...sent us an update on June 27, 2008 from Xutul, where she is living in a ger that she says is a step up from her apartment in DC. "Sain bannuu!," she writes. She and 10 other TEFL volunteers take 6-8 hours of langauge, culture, and technical training classes daily. The locals are excited about the elections being held July 4th weekend. Keep an eye out for her next update!

...has requested we assist a summer camp held yearly by education volunteers in Malawi. She writes in her blog, Malawi Adventurez on June 23, 2008, "It has been a fantastic success in the past and we are hoping to carry on the tradition... ...and his wife Jennifer announce the birth of his son, Jacob Alexander on April 30, 2008. John Mark also has a co-authored article coming out in an upcoming English Language Forum issue and just got a full time position at Nova.
