• Enter campus through the main entrance off of Massachusetts Avenue (just north of Nebraska).
• Go about 100 yards and you go through a "tunnel" under the Butler-Bender complex where the campus shops are located.
• As soon as you come out of the tunnel make a hard u-turn to the right. This will take you into the main parking garage.
• Spiral up through the level of the parking garage until you see the doors with the big "3" on them. Park anywhere you can.
• Go through either door with the "3" on your right (as you're looking towards the two doors) [see floor plan link below]. Pass through a short hallway turn right (the book store entrance is on your left), go down the exterior walkway, enter the door to your right at the end of the walkway. Continue straight ahead. Turn right just past the Food Court. Mary Graydon Center Conference Rooms are just ahead to your left.

• The Tenleytown Station on the Shady Grove leg of the Red Line is the Metro stop you want.
• Take the left exit when leaving the Tenleytown station.
• At the top of the escalator walk straight ahead to the next street. The AU shuttle stops at this corner.
• If you're not sure you're in the right place, look to your left. You should see the Hollywood Video store.
• The shuttle is red, white and blue and has the AU logo all over it.
• If the driver asks for your AU id, tell them that you're a visitor or that you're a workshop participant. He might ask you to fill out a form on a clip board, but it's no problem.
• Get off the shuttle at the first on-campus stop (ask the driver what stop he leaves you at)
  • From Ward Building
    • Walk on the sidewalk between Ward and Hurst. At the Quad, take the diagonal walk veering left. When the walk ends, go up the short flight of stairs, enter the first door to your left. Continue straight ahead. [see floor plan link above].Turn right just past the Food Court. Mary Graydon Center Conference Rooms are just ahead to your left.
  • From Hurst Hall dormitory-if you have doubts don't hesitate to ask the shuttle driver).
    • Cross the street and walk between Kogod and Batelle-Thompkins Buildings. Turn right when you reach the Quad. Walk past the Batelle Thompkins Building, turn right and go up the short flight of stairs, enter the first door to your left. [see floor plan link above].Continue straight ahead. Turn right just past the Food Court. Mary Graydon Center Conference Rooms are just ahead to your left.

DRIVING TO THE 6TH FLOOR BOARD OR CONFERENCE ROOM IN BUTLER PAVILION 
(Evenings and Weekends parking is free everywhere on campus)

  ARRIVING BY AU SHUTTLE FROM THE METRO AND GOING TO THE 6th FLOOR BOARD OR CONFERENCE ROOMS IN BUTLER PAVILION

      • When the walk ends, go up the short flight of stairs, go down the walkway, enter the doors. The bookstore entrance is directly ahead, the elevator is just to the right. Take the elevator to the sixth floor
    • From front of Hurst Hall dormitory-if you have doubts don't hesitate to ask the shuttle driver).
      • Walk down the sidewalk following the road until you get to the tunnel where the campus shops are located. To your left as you're entering the tunnel, there is a coffee shop and then a Chevy Chase bank. In between there is an entryway where some ATMs are located. At the back of this entryway is an elevator. Take it to the 6th floor and you're in the Butler Board Room!
