Invest in Your Success

Invest in Your Success is a new non-credit professional development certificate program developed by the Office of Information Technology for American University’s student workers This program strives to maximize students’ success by teaching the core technology skills needed to thrive in an office environment. Students will complete a combination of online and classroom-based training to enhance their skills and maximize their value to potential on campus employers.

Courses will focus on safe computing, collaboration and teamwork, and practical applications of technology to the work environment. It is expected that participating students will attend a mandatory orientation session, and complete four out of the five required courses to receive certification.

Courses will be offered on subsequent Wednesday and Friday afternoons in the OIT Training Room (Anderson LL – B46) or online as noted.

    • Use OneDrive for Business to store, edit and share your work files and documents
    • Collaborate on Office documents with others in real time
    • Access Office Web Apps


  • Use styles and headings

  • Create section breaks, table of contents, and page numbers
