Puzzle 1:

If:  2 + 3 = 10
     7 + 2 = 63
     6 + 5 = 66
     8 + 4 = 96

Then: 9 + 7 = 144

Explanation: the equation is made by adding the two numbers and multiplying the sum by the first number 

9+7=16 9X16 =144

Puzzle 2:

ASPARAGUS is to SUGAR

 As

TRAGIC is to CIGAR

Explanation: The last 5 letters of asparagus spell sugar backwards so the last five letters of tragic spell cigar backwards

Puzzle 3:

The average age of five people in a room is 30.
A sixth person joins the room and the average rises to 32.
How old is the sixth person? 42

Explanation: If 5 people have an average age of 30 then their total is 150 yrs. If the average goes to 32, the total years is 192. The 2 year difference is all on the 6th person. So 192-150=42

Puzzle 4:

An ancient Greek was said to have lived one-fourth of his life as a boy, one fifth as a youth, one third as a man, and spent the last 13 years as an elderly gent. How old was he when he died? 60

Explanation:Let x equal his whole life
Boyhood=1/4x
Youth=1/5x
Adult = 1/3x
Elder years= 13
