AU to Participate in Meeting with Staff
from U.S. Senate Committee on Finance

On March 3, 2006, the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance staff will be hosting a meeting to discuss non-profit governance.  The staff has invited the university to send as many as six representatives to the meeting.  Interim President Kerwin, members of the Board of Trustees, faculty, and others will attend.  The Senate staff has also invited several members of the AU community. 

This is not a formal Senate hearing and will not be focused solely on AU.  We do not expect members of the Senate to participate.  We are looking forward to briefing the Senate staff on the university's progress on governance activities begun last fall, before and after the meeting.  We will keep you informed about these discussions.
