Students must apply to graduate through the student portal during the academic year in which they intend to graduate.
Once submitted an application for graduation initiates an eventual review of the academic record by the Academic Unit for a degree granting period (spring, summer, fall.) Only after application has been made can the Academic Unit begin processing the necessary information for final certification for graduation.
Late applications may result in the student's name being omitted from the commencement program and other printed materials and may delay the student's ability to rent commencement regalia.
Students who fail to complete all degree requirements by the end of the term for which they applied to graduate must reapply in order to graduate later.
