The theme for this year's World Environment Day is "ecosystem restoration." Ecosystems vary around the world from forests to grasslands and from oceans to mountains, but all of them are impacted by climate change. Without restoring ecosystems to their healthiest states, the goals from the Paris Climate Agreement cannot be reached. SIS professor Simon Nicholson will moderate a panel discussion about the issues of climate change and the roles for ecosystem restoration in climate mitigation and ecosystem resiliency. The panel will discuss the actions people are taking to bring ecosystems back to life, for the good of both nature and people. SIS professors Ken Conca, Judy Shapiro, and Paul Wapner will join the discussion, and a Q&A with the audience will follow the conversation.
