Accept Offer and enroll

  1. Set Up MyAU Account

    Open . Use the AU student ID that you received in your email acceptance message to create an account.

    If you applied to a certificate program, you must complete the Certificate: Accept Offer to Enroll form prior to creating an account.

  2. Submit Deposit

    Pay your deposit by credit card or e-check through Eagle Service , or browse the myamerican top menu to "Finances">"Eagle Finance" (under "Personalized Links"). The deposit is $250. This deposit is nonrefundable and will be held in your student account and credited toward your tuition.

    After your enrollment deposit is processed, you will receive an email confirmation with advising and registration information.

    *If your admission includes conditions of acceptance, it is your responsibility to meet those conditions according to the specified schedule.

  3. Submit Official Transcripts

    If you have not done so, please submit your final official transcript(s) to American University by the deadline listed at the top of this page.

    Final transcripts can be mailed to one of the following addresses:

    All graduate students must adhere to the American University graduate student regulations and academic integrity code . Please make sure to review this information online before courses begin.

Defer Enrollment

Graduate applicants who have been offered admission to American University may request to defer their enrollment for up to one year. Deferral requests are not guaranteed and must be approved by the respective program's department. Candidates who are approved for a deferral do not have to file a new application.

To submit a deferral request, fill out the deferral form by August 1 (for fall/summer)or November 1 (for spring).
